“Taking its title from the 1969 song Duchess by Scott Walker, this exhibition presents five distinctive approaches to drawing focused on depictions of the face and figure. The exhibition presents a series of drawings that explore faces in transition, capturing identities that are not fixed. Developed from diverse processes, including grids as a way of transcribing information, working from life or adapting found imagery. Surfaces are built from marks that accumulate and dissolve, suggesting faces in a state of flux or multiple possibilities rather than a single, stable likeness”. 50MV
